Reply: Great Movie Ideas, But I Gotta Add My Two Bits

Vic gave some great slumber party ideas for movies. Of course if you need some more options, be sure to ask your teenager for some recommendations. After all, you want to make sure you have movies that your group of teens will enjoy. The last thing you want to see is the “eye roll” coming your way because of "your" choice of movie. Pretty much anything funny that is no higher than a PG-13 in rating is probably going to be the best choice for your teens and to insure you don't get into hot water with the parents.

While movies make for great slumber party ideas, you won’t want to rely on them for the entire slumber party. Expect those teens to get bored after a movie or two. In fact, they're probably best reserved for when you've had enough and want to get them to settle down and perhaps go to sleep. For this reason, you’ll want to have a wide variety of slumber party games for the teens to play. The last thing you need is bored teens full of energy.

Have everyone sit in a circle and give each person 20-25 slices of dill pickles. Then have someone start the game by saying something like, "I've never been golfing." Whoever has done so must eat one slice of pickle. The game continues in the same fashion until one person finishes their pickles and they shall be the winner.

Create a playlist of popular songs that your teens most likely would be familiar. Then start to play the song and whoever can identify it the quickest receives one point. To make things a little more challenging you could start playing a song towards the end or middle rather than the beginning. Whoever ends up having the most points when all is said and done, shall be the winner.

Send your men-folk out for a scavenger hunt. This is a great option to help burn off energy, have them work as teams, and enjoy the thrill of the hunt. Click on the link/pic below to get all the necessary info!
