Teddy Bear Picnic Party Ideas
For Kids Birthday Party

TEDDY BEAR SHAPED INVITATIONS #1 - Create teddy bear shaped invitations from brown card stock. Type or handwrite party details in calligraphy on piece of scrapbook paper that has a picnic-theme like red and white checkered paper. Cut in the shape of the teddy bear slightly smaller than the brown card stock bear. Glue to brown card stock. Embellish edges with red or brown glitter.

TEDDY BEAR SHAPED INVITATIONS #2 - Follow above instructions and glue to back of invitation wiggly eyes, black pom-pom for nose, black yarn for mouth, red bow at right ear for girl bear or red bow at neck for boy bear. Embellish edges with glitter.

TEDDY BEAR PHOTO INVITATIONS - Either dress your child in a teddy bear costume or pose them with their favorite teddy bear and take a picture. Cut 8 1/2" x 11" card stock into 2 pieces and fold in half. Using decorative scissors, trim edges of photo so it is slightly smaller than the card stock. Glue photo to front of invitation. Put "A beary special child is turning (age)" above photo and "Please join us for some b'day fun!" below photo. On textured white paper (finished size 4 1/2" x 7 1/2") either type or handwrite in calligraphy party details:

Create a festive Teddy Bear Picnic Party atmosphere using some of the following ideas with red and white party decorations:

• Create a photo-op by spreading a large red and white tablecloth or blanket on the floor. Placing a large picnic basket opened up with red and white checkered napkins folded over top edges and filled with teddy bears. Tie some teddy bear and red and white balloons with curling ribbons to picnic basket handles. As kids arrive, have them sit on the tablecloth or blanket with their teddy bear and take a picture.

• Create a bear cave by setting up a large tent with "rooms." You can either use a tent that comes with room dividers or hang blankets to create your own. Cover the outside with brown paper to darken the tent and make it look cave-like. If needed, put a portable lantern in each room for light. Add small tables and chairs or blankets on the ground, along with teddy bear books, coloring books, markers, crayons, etc. As kids arrive, let them have free-play in the cave.

• Decorate ceilings with twisted streamers and clusters of balloons with curling ribbons.

• Decorate room with teddy bears and other stuffed animals dressed in their picnic best.
