SPONGEBOB WET RELAY RACE – You’ll need several sponges, as well as some buckets of water for this wet, hilarious Spongebob Squarepants game. Start by dividing guests into 2-3 different teams. Give each team a sponge and a bucket of water. At the finish line, have a bucket for each team. The goal is for the first team member to grab the sponge, get as much water in it as possible, and then dash to the finish line to squeeze out the sponge into the team’s bucket. This continues through the team until one team finally fills their bucket full of water. You should play this game outdoors, since water is sure to end up everywhere.

SPONGEBOB TOSS 4 POINTS – This is another of the Spongebob Squarepants games that requires sponges. To prepare for the game, make a huge cutout of SpongeBob from plastic or some wood. Then, cut out holes for the eyes and mouth of Spongebob. Give each guest 5 wet sponges and have them try to toss the sponges into the holes. Assign points to all the holes and score each child. MR. KRAB CRAB-WALK RACE – Another exciting game is the Mr. Krab crab-walk race. Have all the kids get into the crab-walking position at the start line. When you say go, have them race to the finish line while only doing the crab-walk. No one is allowed to use any other type of movement to reach the finish line. The guest that crab walks the fastest and passes the finished line first is crowned Mr. Krab and given a fun prize, such as a stuffed Mr. Krab or other related prize. You can even play this game a couple times to hand out more prizes, or offer prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

OCTOPUS AND FISH TAG GAME – For this game you’ll need to make two lines that are about 20 feet apart. To play the game, you will need to pick a player (maybe start with the guest of honor) to play the part of the “octopus.” Have the “octopus” stand between the two lines, right in the middle, calling it the “middle of the ocean.” The rest of the kids should line up behind one of the lines and they will be the “fish” for this game. Have the octopus start this game by yelling, “Swim little fishies, swim!” The “fish” have to try to “swim” from one side of the ocean to the other without the octopus tagging them. Once the octopus tags someone, that person joins hands with the octopus, becoming one of the octopus’ tentacles. Together they try to catch fish when the next round starts. Keep going until there is only one fish left.

GUESS THE SEA ANIMAL – Before the party, print out different sea animals on pieces of paper. Glue the paper to a piece of construction paper so no one can see through the paper. Have all the kids gather in an area and pick a child to go first. That child gets to pick one of the sea animal papers, but they cannot let anyone else see the picture. Then, the child has to act out the animal using gestures and noises, but they cannot say words to help other people guess. The person who guesses the sea animal gets to go next, picking a new animal and starting the process over again. This is one of the Spongebob Squarepants games that is sure to be a big hit with kids.

SQUIDWARD MAY I... - You will play this game like "Mother May I." The b-day child can have the honor to start the game as "Squidward at one end of the room and the rest of the children all line up at the other end of the room. The kids then take turns asking Squidward if they may make a particular movement. For example, Squidward, may I take three steps forward? Squidward then replies "Yes, you may" or "No, you may not." Whoever reaches Squidward first becomes Squidward for the next round.

Print out at least 3-4 for each character. Make sure that the characters are small – they should not be the size of a piece of paper. You want them to be small enough to hide. Hide all the Spongebob characters throughout the party area. Give kids a list of the names of the characters you have hidden. The first person to find all of Spongebob’s friends (1 of each character) will win this fun game.

SEASHELL NECKLACE ACTIVITY – If you want an activity for the beginning of the Spongebob party, this is a great one to try. You’ll need some thick cord for the necklaces, as well as seashells that have holes in them. Have kids pick out some pretty seashells, stringing them on the cord. Then, help kids tie off the cord so they have a pretty seashell necklace. Let them wear their necklaces during the party and then they can be taken home as favors when the party is over.

During the party, have guests guess how many shells are on the jar, putting their guess down on a notecard with their name and the number. You can have a small box where guests can place the notecards with their guesses on them, but make sure kids know that they can only submit one guess. At the end of the party, look through all the guesses and award a prize to the person who guessed closest to the actual number of seashells in the jar.

SPONGEBOB PLAYS – Divide up all of the party guests into teams of 5-6 people. Give them 10-15 minutes to come up with their own Spongebob themed play to perform. They can make up their own fun plays or they can use a favorite Spongebob adventure as inspiration. Then, let the groups take turns doing their Spongebob play in front of the rest of the guests at the Spongebob party. You could have several adults act as judges for the plays.
