Grover Cake

grover cake

My son loves Grover from Sesame Street, so, with the help of my aunt who does this kind of thing regularly, I made a huge Grover face cake!

This was for a one-year-old boy's birthday party. I used the biggest round pan I could find, I think it was 18" diamin eter. We had a lot of people coming! I used two boxed yellow cake mixes.

I iced the cake with tubs of white icing mixed with blue paste coloring, no idea what color blue, but I had to use a lot. I used a tube of icing with a wide flat tip to make the black part of his mouth, and a small amount of red tubed icing with a small round tip for the red part of his mouth. His nose was white icing mixed with regular red food coloring to make the pink color. His eyes were simply white icing, and the same black from his mouth.

His blue fur was done with a tip that had 9 or 10 small holes in it, and it was very easy to do.
