Scooby Doo

scooby doo costume

This was a tough project. I spent many hours trying to figure out how to make a Scooby costume from scratch. I finally decided to use a pattern for an animal costume. You could use a cat or lion or dog) for the body, with some black felt for a customized Scooby body. Then I drew the face freehand with dimensional paint. I used cardboard and some filling to give the face a bit of puffiness. The fabric that I used is like a very light-weight faux-suede; it's a much better option than fake fur because 1) it's not as hot for the child inside, and 2) it's easier to work with.
