Rubber Ducky Cake

Just Ducky Cake For My Lil' Guy
I’ve always thought that rubber ducks are just so adorable. Now that my little boy is a toddler, I had to throw him a rubber ducky birthday party. To decorate for his party, I decide to use yellow and blue as the main colors for the party décor. I decorated with rubber ducks of all sizes, using them on the tables and other places throughout the area.
To carry out the duck theme, I made blue punch and allow several rubber ducks to float around in the punch, which made it look like ducks were swimming on a pond. We even played duck themed games, like duck, duck goose.
I wanted to make sure the cake went along with the rubber ducky birthday party theme. This cake was actually pretty easy to create. I created a simple round cake, which could be made in any flavor, although I made this one a yellow, butter cake. I used fondant icing in yellow to create the duck look. With a round cookie for the face and fondant wings, the cake turned out better than I could of hoped for.
What I really loved was all the exclamations from the toddlers when they saw the cake. That made it worth all the hard work I put into the rubber ducky cake.
