When creating your costume, it is important to understand that you may create a costume that is humanoid in nature, industrial, or one that looks like your favorite robot character. It is important to ensure that the costume is combined with movements that appear to be automated to enhance the overall appearance of the costume. Instructions for Creating a Basic Box-Type Robot

Items Needed:
  • A Box That Will Fit Over the Head
  • A Box That Will Fit Over the Body
  • Rubber Cement
  • Aluminum Foil
  • Jeans
  • Plumber’s Tape
  • Long Sleeve Shirt
  • Gloves
  • Old Toy Parts
  • Exhaust Pipe

Step 1: Take the box for the head and the box for the body and put rubber cement all over the boxes. Once the rubber cement is on the boxes, place aluminum foil on all of the sides.

Step 2: Take the jeans and cover them with plumber’s tape.

Step 3: Attach the exhaust pipe on the arms of the long sleeve shirt.

Step 4: Place plumber’s tape on the shoes and gloves that will be used.

Step 5: Cut out the head and body sections of the two boxes that you will use.

Step 6: Put the shirt with the exhaust pipe on the sleeves on the body.

Step 7: Put the jeans covered in plumber’s tape on the body.

Step 8: Put on the shoes and gloves that are covered in plumber’s tape.

Step 9: Slide on the boxes – one on the body, one on the head.

Step 10: Glue parts from old toys on the robot body to complete the costume.
