This cake was quite easy to make; the owl topper was made from modeling paste in advance. I filled the round sponge cake with buttercream and covered it in fondant. I used a rose leaf plunger cutter to create the leaves on the side of the cake

When I saw this cute owl cake by Ria, I loved how she used different shades of pink along with the browns for the owl. If you are throwing an owl party for your little girl, this cake offers some wonderful inspiration for decorating. You can use different shades of pinks as your main party colors, accenting them with browns for the owls. The combination of the two colors is just lovely. Consider adding a few touches of green here and there as well to complete your color palette.

One great decorating idea for your owl party is to decorate the tables with pale pink tablecloths. Then, you can choose paper plates, cups and other party goods in a deeper shade of pink for a nice contrast. Add some brown stuffed owls around the room to follow through on your theme. You may even be able to find some owl party packs that use this color combination.

If you want to make an owl cake of your own for your party, you don’t have to make an owl topper yourself. Instead of using modeling paste to make your own owl topper, it is fairly easy to find some plastic owls that could be used as the topper for your cake.

When your owl party comes to an end, consider handing out some of the stuffed owls you used for decorations as favors for your little guests. No doubt, these little party guests will love going home with their own cuddly stuffed owl. Just make sure that you save one for the birthday girl as well.
