If you have decided that you are going to throw a Christmas Birthday Party or a Christmas get together that involves kids, try out some of these games that follow to add a few more laughs to your gathering, especially if you are going to have the kids around all day long.

As you well know, kids attention span can be very short and/or not long-lasting on any one activity. Therefore, I've put together a few game options to peruse as you scroll through this page. The games will keep the smiles flowing as they are lively and will enhance the Christmas atmosphere and create an enjoyable party or get together. Here are the games that are geared toward your youngins', along with having a theme of Christmas to them:

Kids Christmas Party Games

SNOWBALL TOWER CREATION GAME – This is one of the kids Christmas party games that kids will love, especially since they can eat the marshmallows when the game is over. You will need plenty of marshmallows for this game, as well as plenty of toothpicks. Divide kids up into teams of 3-4. Give each team a bag of marshmallows and plenty of toothpicks. Then, set a timer for five minutes. The object of the game is for kids to use their marshmallows and toothpicks to make a tall tower. When the time is up, see which team has managed to make the tallest tower with their marshmallows. The team with the tallest tower is declared the winner. Then, kids can eat the rest of the marshmallows.

GUESS WHAT’S IN THE STOCKING CHRISTMAS GAME – Another exciting Christmas party game for kids is guess what’s in the stocking. Before the party, you will want to take a big Christmas stocking and fill it with Christmas related objects. Make sure that every object is different. Great items to place in the stocking include, pine cones, Christmas ornaments, holly, Christmas star, a Christmas light bulb, a ball of wrapping paper, etc. Be sure to tie off the opening of the stocking with some string or ribbon so no one is able to look inside the stocking. To play the game, make sure guests have their own piece of paper and something to write with. Then, pass the stocking from person to person, giving them about 20 seconds to feel the stocking. After feeling the stocking, they have to write down what they think is in the stocking. The person who has the most correct guesses wins.

CHRISTMAS PICTIONARY GAME – This fun twist on Pictionary is sure to be a blast. Divide your guests into 2-4 teams. Before the party, write down Christmas themed things on notecards, such as Santa, Christmas lights, reindeer, snowman, etc. Set up a whiteboard and have some dry erase markers on hand. Pick a person from the first team to come up and draw. That person picks a card and then has to draw the item and get their team to guess. Give them 45-60 seconds to draw the item and have their team guess it. If their team cannot guess it, another team can try to guess. Then, let someone from the next team do the same thing. See which team racks up the most points throughout the game.

GUESS THAT CHRISTMAS SONG GAME – Guess that Christmas song will get everyone involved and it’s an easy game to prepare for too. All you need to do is make a playlist of different Christmas songs. At the party, divide guests into two teams and have them all sit down with their team. Play a short snippet of a Christmas song and see which team can guess the song first. Teams get a point for guessing the right song. The team that gets the most points by the end of the game wins. Great Christmas songs you can use for this game include:

- White Christmas
- Silent Night
- The Christmas Song
- The First Noel
- Jingle Bell Rock
- Feliz Navidad
- Joy to the World
- Here Comes Santa Claus
- Rudolph, The Red Nosed Reindeer
- Away in a Manger
- Christmas Shoes
- Santa Baby
- Blue Christmas
- Do You Hear What I Hear
- Winter Wonderland
- Sleigh Ride
- Hark the Herald Angels Sing - Frosty the Snowman

CHRISTMAS STORY SKITS – Divide up your guests into teams of 4-5 members. Give teams about 15 minutes and have them come up with their own unique skit based on the Christmas story. Their skit should last about 5 minutes. After teams put together their skit, let each team perform their unique Christmas story skit for the rest of the guests. It’s a nice way to keep kids thinking about the real Christmas story and kids will love performing their own version of the story.

CHRISTMAS COOKIE DECORATING ACTIVITY – Before the party, bake up 2-4 dozen cutout cookies in Christmas shapes, such as stars, snowmen, candy canes, Christmas trees, etc. Have a big area where kids can have fun decorating the cookies. Put out different colors of icing, sprinkles, edible glitter and other items for decorating the cookies. Make sure you have enough cookies so each guest can decorate at least 2 cookies. Let guests take home their cookies as favors at the end of your Christmas party.

On "Go", the first person of each team runs to their table and puts Vaseline on their face, lays their face into the bowl of cotton balls, and runs back to their teammates. Once everyone has had an opportunity to complete the process, it will conclude. Whichever team collectively has the most cotton balls on their faces, shall be the winners.

3-LEGGED CHRISTMAS STOCKING RACE - Have everyone separate into teams or you create them and then give to each of your teams an extra-large Christmas stocking. The first two players of each team starts the game by placing one leg into the stocking. On "Go," the pairs hop, walk, run to your designed spot and then do the same back to your start line. The game continues with the next two on the team repeating the process. Whichever team is the first one to finish wins.

On "Go", whoever is first in line will need to run to the basket, grab a balloon, and proceed to break it by sitting on it or by squeezing it. Once the balloon breaks, the next teammate is free to run to the basket and do the same. Whichever team finishes first, shall be the winners.

PINATA FOR "FELIZ NAVIDAD" PARTY - Whether you translate it Merry Christmas or Happy Christmas, a 5-pointed star-shaped pinata is the traditional pinata used for this activity. Be sure to play Mexican music, in particular, the Christmas song written and sung by Jose Feliciano in the background, while the kids work at breaking open the pinata with a stick or bat. For added fun, decorate the stick or bat with ribbons in your party colors.
