Holiday Birthday Party Ideas To Celebrate Those Holiday Births!

Fun And Fabulous Holiday Birthday Party Ideas
To Help You Create Memorable Celebrations

Unfortunately, it is easy for holiday birthdays to get lost in the hustle and bustle that surrounds a particular holiday. And take it from a mom who has son whose birthday falls on Thanksgiving day every 7 years (November 25th), that it is very easy to fall into bad birthday celebration habits. I must confess, too often I fell a bit short in making sure my son's birthday was extra special, especially when he was older. : (

So I'm writing this page to help those of you who have friends and loved ones whose birthdays fall on a much celebrated holiday that's not all about the birthday recipient. Holiday birthday party ideas will follow for the majority of holidays that occur each year.

PLAN AHEAD

First of all, don't let those holiday birthdays get lost in all of the holiday hoop-la. No waiting till the last minute; you must start early. With careful planning, you can create a special, one-of-a-kind birthday for your friends and loved ones who are born on or near a major holiday. However, you must stay on top of things and plan accordingly or else you'll find yourself swooped up in the holiday's festivities and the birthday person will take second place.

CELEBRATE BIRTHDAY AND HOLIDAY SEPARATELY

If possible, try to keep the holiday separate from the birthday. It's just too easy and convenient to combine the cards and the presents into one "big" event. More often than not, the holiday birthday recipient gets the raw end of the deal. You must resist the temptation to make gift-buying easy by combining those gifts. Also, be sure to wrap those presents in birthday paper, not paper that coincides with the holiday!

POSTPONE THE BIG B-DAY CELEBRATION

Consider postponing the "big" birthday party. For example, instead of trying to have a birthday party on November 25th and ultimately end up with all of his friends being out of town, I would instead host it on or about May 25th. This worked out great as the weather was better and kids were ready, willing and able to attend. We would of course have a family-only birthday celebration on November 25th so Josh wouldn't feel slighted.

As the old saying goes, "There's more than one way to skin a cat", especially when you're dealing with holiday birthday party ideas, so it's time to roll up your sleeves and get ready to plan away. To help give the holiday birthday recipients a fighting chance, the following pages have all been written with the idea of celebrating the birthday simultaneously on a given holiday, but with an eye on making the birthday recipient feel special.
