There are many different types of helicopters that have a wide array of uses. In most instances, these machines transport people and various types of cargo; however, they also have the capability of performing other types of tasks, as well. Examples of these tasks include – but are not limited to – being utilized in military exercises and conducting activities pertaining to the military, being used in the process of construction, being utilized for emergency services, transporting supplies, doctors, and patients in the medical field, being used to conduct aerial observations, and being used for tourism.

When creating helicopter cakes, it is imperative that you consider what type of chopper you want the cake to resemble or reflect. If you need a little assistance in the endeavor, the following instructions may assist you:

Instructions on Creating an Army Chopper Cake

Items Needed:

  • Three Boxes of Chocolate Cake Mix
  • Deep Bundt Cake Pan
  • Rectangular Cake Pan
  • Green Icing
  • Deep Green Icing Gel
  • Condensed Milk
  • Chocolate Covered Pretzels
  • Baking Chocolate
  • Wax Paper
  • Sharp Knife
  • Sturdy Tray
  • Dark Green Fondant

Step 1: Prepare one box of the cake mix and place the batter into the Bundt cake pan and then bake according to the instructions on the box.

Step 2: Prepare two boxes of the cake mix and place the batter into the rectangular pan for baking. Once the Bundt cake pan is finished baking, take it out of the oven to cool and place the rectangular cake pan in the oven to bake.

Step 3: Carve the Bundt cake in such a way that it is an oval shape.

Step 4: Once the rectangular cake is finished baking, set it out and allow it to cool.

Step 5: Then, place the oval shaped cake on top of the rectangular cake and then cut out a section to match the shape of the oval cake in the other cake – just be sure to make one side flat so it may attach to the tail that you will create properly.

Step 6: Now, you will need to use the rectangular cake in order to create a tail piece. It is best to cut two pieces for the tail that are the same size and shape.

Step 7: Now, put the chocolate covered pretzels together in the shape of propellers and melt the baking chocolate to hold them together on wax paper.

Step 8: Mix the green icing with the deep green icing gel to create an army green colored icing and put it on the helicopter.

Step 9: Attach the propeller to the top of the chopper.

Step 10: Cut the green fondant so that you may place it around the cake. Then, your cake will be all done.
