I bought a white cake with strawberry mousse filling and vanilla buttercream icing from Costco. I then added the 'dirt' (crushed Oreos) and 'worms & bugs' (gummy worms and bugs).

My friend went to culinary school, and it was my sister's 13th birthday, so together, we made a sunflower cake. It had two layers and rolled fondant on top to create the petal shapes, etc. We prepared it like any other cake, and after it cooled we iced the cake, covered it with fondant, and sprinkled dyed coconut on top of the first layer.
