Fun Western Party Ideas

We turned our barn into Western Party Central. We used bales of hay for people to sit on, along with several picnic tables. Over the years we have collected a lot of different western party items that make for a great setting. Things like wagon wheels, cactus, horseshoes, ropes, cowboy hats, spurs, a huge cardboard stagecoach, etc. were placed around the barn and yard. We hung a bunch of colored Christmas lights throughout the barn.
My husband did the BBQing and we served some traditional western food. He did some chicken and tri-tip. I made a huge pot of beans, corn on the cob, salad, and cornbread. For the kids, we served hot dogs and macaroni and cheese. We serve up the snacks in plastic cowboy hats that were adorned with various colored bandanas.
For some of the entertainment, we used karaoke and let everyone share their talents.
Don't forget to tell everyone to wear their western best. You certainly don't want anyone showing up all dressed up. We did the invitations in the shape of horseshoes.
