Fun Western Party Ideas

Ya'll Come To My Party, Ya'll Hear?
We turned our barn into Western Party Central. We used bales of hay for people to sit on, along with several picnic tables. Over the years, we have collected a lot of different western party items that make for a great setting. Things like wagon wheels, cacti, horseshoes, ropes, cowboy hats, spurs, a huge cardboard stagecoach, etc. were placed around the barn and yard. We hung a bunch of colored Christmas lights throughout the barn.
My husband did the BBQing and we served some traditional western food. He did some chicken and tri-tip. I made a huge pot of beans, corn on the cob, salad and cornbread. For the kids, we served hot dogs and macaroni and cheese. We served up the snacks in plastic cowboy hats that were adorned with various colored bandanas.
For some of the entertainment, we used karaoke and let everyone share his or her talents.
Don't forget to tell everyone to wear their western best. You certainly don't want anyone showing up all dressed up.
We did the invitations in the shape of horseshoes.
Does Wendy and her husband know how to throw a party, or what? They had some great western party ideas. I love the idea of using horseshoe shaped invitations. If you need some other adult birthday party ideas for invitations, I was inspired with a few more fun ideas to try.
One exciting idea for invitations is to cut them out in the shape of a cowboy hat. Simply cut out the shapes from cardstock and then write the party information on them. You can also decorate them up with some glue-on jewels or sequins. Another idea is to find mini cowboy hats to use for your invitations. Write the party information on slips of paper. Roll the paper up and tie. Then tie the invitations to the mini hats using some string that looks like thin rope. Deliver these invitations by hand.
Cowboy hats also make western party ideas for favors as well. Have some masculine hats for the guys and some more feminine hats for the ladies to take home at the end of the night. You may even want to let everyone enjoy wearing their hats during the party to add to the western vibe.
