First Birthday Cake For My Lil' Sweetie
My only child just turned one and I had no idea how to throw a girl birthday party for a one year old. However, I wanted to make it special so I did a bit of research and gave it a go. My daughter loves any bright colors, but has a special fondness of pink, so I went with traditional pink for the party decorations. We had lots of pink balloons at the party, which the little ones actually enjoyed playing with.
I planned some pretty simple games for the little ones that attended to celebrate with my daughter. They had fun with a pink pull piñata and had fun dashing after cute toys and candy. I also had an episode of Dora for the little ones to watch to keep them occupied for a bit.
I kept the food pretty simple for the little fingers, serving up juice boxes, cake and ice cream. I had fun making the little cake for the party. In keeping with the pink décor, I iced a strawberry flavored cake with pink buttercream icing. After the pink base was applied, I added some bright flowers and then plenty of festive sprinkles to add more color to the cake. It looked so cute and the little ones and adults all enjoyed the cake. I even took a picture of my daughter with the cake, which we’ll treasure forever.
