Crown theme cakes are an excellent means of adding a majestic and magical touch to any birthday party. They're obviously perfect for a medieval, prince or princess themed party.

Crown Cakes – Add a Majestic Touch to Any Birthday Party

The crown is a traditional and special type of headgear that is typically worn by an individual in power, that has achieved victory, or one that is being honored or glorified in a unique manner.

In birthday celebrations, a crown cake may be offered to a girl that has a passion for princesses, a boy that likes princes, or, for an individual that has received a crown for winning an event, such as a beauty pageant or a dance contest. Additionally, a crown cake may be offered for someone that is named “Princess” or “Prince”, or, nicknamed either “Princess” or “Prince”.

As you will soon see once you start your scrolling process, I've uploaded several pictures that display crown birthday cake ideas. If you are trying to come up with a unique way to make this kind of a birthday cake, check out these pictures for inspiration.

Crown Birthday Cake

My daughter was approaching her seventh birthday, and her mother was away on business. The job of providing a cake fell to me, her Dad. I could have gone to the grocery store and bought a ready-made cake, but felt it would be more fun to make one together with my daughter.

Mandy was going through her "Princess Stage," so I thought it would be nice (and easy) to make a cake resembling a crown. There is nothing special about the cake or icing, but we added ice cream cones around the perimeter and topped the cake, and each cone, off with jewel-tone jellybeans.

When making a crown cake you may use a cake pan that looks like a crown, create a crown using sugar fondant, create a cake that has symbols of crowns, or you might decide to make a cake and place a real crown or tiara placed on top of the dessert. You may also create cakes of different shapes, such as one that has a crown sitting on top of one or more pillows. If you're thinking about creating a beautiful crown-themed cake and want to do so easily, you may follow the instructions outlined below:

Instructions for Creating a Crown-Shaped Cake

Items Needed:

  • 14-Inch Crown Cake Pan
  • White Cake Mix
  • White Fondant
  • Pink Fondant
  • Pink Writing Icing and Swirl Tip
  • White Writing Icing and Swirl Tip
  • Edible Heart Cake Topper Candies
  • Cake Tray

Step 1: Whip up your white cake mix and fill up your crown pan, cool it off and get ready to decorate.

Step 2: First you will need to roll out the pink fondant and use it to cover up your cake tray.

Step 3: Then put your cooled cake on the tray and cover it up with rolled white fondant.

Step 4: Next, use the pink writing icing and special tip to color in the crown.

Step 5: Use the white writing icing and special tip to make swirls on the 2nd and 4th crown tip. You may also write the name of the individual celebrating their birthday on the large section of the crown.

Step 6: Finally, put the heart candy on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th point of the crown.

Now that you have many crown theme cake ideas at your disposal, the royal time has come for me to pass the cake scepter and for you to start creating this type of cake. You may choose to create a three dimensional crown cake, or make it a bit easier on yourself and use this type of pan rather than creating it from pieces of cake on your own – the choice is yours. We would love it if you would take plenty of pictures of the birthday dessert once you have finished, and share them with us; just use the cake submission link below.
