Great Camo Cake
I made this cake because my dad is a big hunter and I wanted him to have a nice cake for his birthday. This was made a few months after I actually learned how to make cakes. The top is just a smoothed hunter's orange color and then for the bottom I made three different icing colors and piped them onto the cake with a star tip. The browning symbol was printed from the internet then I laid fondant on the top and traced the symbol onto it.
It’s obvious that this camo cake took a lot of time. What a creative, fun idea. This awesome cake gave me some cool cake ideas you may want to use for army birthday parties.Army Tank Cake
For army birthday parties, a camo cake is a perfect choice. If you’re looking for a unique idea that will go with the army theme and incorporate camouflage, consider an army tank cake. To make your own tank cake, start out with a 9-13 cake in the cake flavor of your choice. Then, you’ll need to make a cake in a bread loaf pan as well. The 9x13 cake will be the base and then you’ll add the loaf shaped cake to the top to give the cake the tank shape. Use some icing to attach the two cakes to make sure that they don’t slide.
Next, you’ll need to decorate the tank cake in camouflage icing. You can use a combination of different greens or you can go with three icing colors – green, grey and brown. Decorate carefully to make it look like real camouflage. Then, you need to make the treads and the wheels for the tank. Oreos or other cookies can be used for the wheels and you can use small rectangles of chocolate to make the treads. For the tank’s cannon, a Pirouette cookie is the perfect choice. Add a couple army men to the top of your cake and you have a perfect camo cake for army birthday parties.
