Black And White Games To Compliment A Black And White Party

Fun And Fabulous Black And White Games
To Entertain, Challenge And Amuse Your Guests!

If you have decided to throw a party patterned after the famous Truman Capote Black And White Party, then you'll of course want to insure that all of your guests are thoroughly entertained and what better way to accomplish this than with some fun theme games.

Assuming everyone will be dressed to the nines, the games that you select will have to possess a certain air of sophistication. In other words, we don't want your guests to get too mussed up or subject them to games that involve food being smeared on the face, water being squirted at them, or any other game that someone with their pinkie extended would want not to play. To help get you started, I have put together several games that would be a perfect complement to a black and white party.

BLACK AND WHITE GAMES & ACTIVITIES

Before you gather your friends and family too take a few minutes to pick and choose from some of my black and white party games to ring in the good times. Listed below are some great printable games, along with some party games that have a black and white party theme that you might want to consider incorporating into your B&W Party:

Black And White Games

DANCE OFF TO A BLACK & WHITE MUSIC PLAYLIST – Dancing and music should be a party of any black and white party, so crank up the music and have a dance off for everyone to enjoy. All you need is a judge panel that includes 2-3 people, a playlist of black and white themed music and plenty of room on the dance floor.

Start the dance off and have guests dance to the first song. At the end of the song, the judges will eliminate a pair of dancers or a single dancer from the group. Then, another song is played and after the song, another elimination occurs. Continue the eliminations until only one dancer or couple is left to win the game. Of course, if you have a lot of guests, you can eliminate more than one person or couple after each song to speed things up a bit.

Here is a perfect playlist of songs to use for your dance off:

- Black or White – by Michael Jackson
- White Wedding – by Billy Idol
- Black Magic Woman – by Santana
- Ebony and Ivory – by Paul McCartney
- Black Velvet – Alannah Miles
- White Shadow – by Coldplay
- Nights in White Satin – by Moody Blues
- Back in Black – by ACDC
- White Liar – by Miranda Lambert
- White Flag – by Dido
- Paint it Black – by the Rolling Stones

BLACK AND WHITE PHOTO ACTIVITY – Since you are using a black and white theme, one fun activity for your party is to have an area where guests can have fun taking black and white photos. You could use your own digital camera or hire a photographer who will take black and white photos. Another option is to rent a fun photo booth to use for black and white photos. Everyone will have a blast posing with each other and creating exciting memories. Set aside some time for the photos and you can always have some cool photo props for guests to use as well.

GUESS THAT BLACK AND WHITE PHOTO GAME – Another of the exciting black and white games you may want to use at your party is the Guess That Black and White Photo Game. Before the party, you’ll need to do your homework. Collect photos of all your guests, including the guest of honor, at different ages in their life. You’ll definitely want some younger pictures, since they will be harder to guess. Have the photos copied so they are black and white. Place all the black and white photos on a big piece of poster board. With a permanent marker, write down a number next to each photo. Make sure that you keep track of who each photo is really of before you do this. At the party, give guests a piece of paper and something to write with. Then, have them guess who is in each black and white photo, writing down their guess for each number. After everyone is done with their guesses, go through the list and tell everyone who is really in each black and white photo. There are sure to be many laughs as people see how wrong they were about some of their answers. The person to get the most photo guesses right will win this fun game.

BLACK AND WHITE MOVIE CHARADES – If you’re looking for black and white games, you can be sure that your guests will love this game. Before the party, write out the names of different black and white movies on index cards. Try to stick to well-known black and white movies.

To play the game, divide up your guests into two teams. However, instead of having just one person act out the charade, have 2-3 people on the team act it out. Have the team members that will be acting pick an index card. Then, they have to act out the movie on the card without saying anything and the remaining team members have to guess the black and white movie. Go back and forth between teams. The team that guesses the most movies correctly wins the game.

Great black and white movies to use include the following:

- It’s a Wonderful Life
- Seven Samurai
- Citizen Kane
- Sunset Boulevard
- City Lights
- The Seventh Seal
- My Darling Clementine
- Sullivan’s Travels
- Schindler’s List
- Top Hat
- To Kill a Mockingbird
- Casablanca
- Maltese Falcon
- The Grapes of Wrath

BLACK AND WHITE PICTIONARY – Set up an easel with a large pad of drawing paper on it. You’ll need a few black markers as well. Divide up the guests into 2-4 teams. Use the Pictionary game cards to play, but have the pictures drawn on the pad of paper on the easel using the black markers, so you have black and white Pictionary. The team that guesses the most pictures right will win the game.

GUESS THAT MOVIE CLIP – Put together movie clips from several well-known black and white movies. Play a short clip and see who can guess the movie the fastest. Hand out small prizes to those who guess the black and white movie titles.

TRUMAN CAPOTE'S BLACK & WHITE BALL TRIVIA - A black and white party wouldn't be complete without a game honoring the first black and white event. Before you start reading the various questions, be sure all of your guests have pens and paper to write their answers. Then read any or all of trivia questions that I've listed below; they all pertain to Truman Capote and his Black and White Ball and give everyone a minute or two to jot down their response. Whoever ends up answering the most questions correctly, will win the game.
