Bart Simpson Costume
I made a Bart costume--here's how I did it:
- Wear a short-sleeved red t-shirt, blue shorts and blue tennis shoes, and you're halfway there. If you don't already have these things, shop a thrift store or yard sale where you can pick them up cheap.Step 2
- Apply yellow body paint to your face, arms and legs to get that famous Simpson flesh tone.Step 3
- Spray temporary yellow hair spray in your hair, even if you're blonde as the bright yellow will add a special effect to the costume. Then when your hair is dry, spike it. If you hair is too long to spike, buy a wig at a local thrift store and use the same process. I made a yellow "crown" out of yellow poster board.Step 4
- Borrow a skateboard if you don't have one, or pick one up cheap at a garage sale. Bart Simpson never goes anywhere without his skateboard as it's his main mode of transportation.Reply: Great Ideas, But I Gotta Add My Two Bits
Justin certainly created a great Bart costume, along with providing the secrets to his success. If you're going to be hosting a Bart Simpson party, here are some ideas to consider:BART GARLAND
Download a picture of the infamous Bart head that would fit onto an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of card stock. Then print off multiple color copies of the head and string them onto a piece of baker's twine, ribbon, or regular twine. This will create a garland that would be perfect for hanging around windows, door frames, tables, mantel, etc.
Use primary colors of yellow, red, blue, and green to decorate the party area. You can twist streamers of two different colors throughout the room.
Another fun option would be to twist streamers in alternating colors down a large wall. This would create a wonderful backdrop for photos or the cake table.
Also, creating balloon bouquets of all the various colors and placing them throughout the party room will certainly give it an instant look of festivity.
If you have any quests who fails to come decked out in their Bart best, you could create some extra Bart "crowns" like Justin suggested, and have them on hand to give out to guests as they arrive.
