"Tutu" Pretty Ballerina Cake

The ballerina is made from gum paste and then painted. The top and bottom tiers are fondant covered cakes with designs painted onto them. The center tier is a glass bowl with a flower inside.

I just cannot imagine how much time and effort went into this gorgeous ballerina cake. It is stunning and sure to make any little girl happy at her ballerina party. Are you looking for a few more cake ideas that go with a ballerina theme? This cake got my imagination wheels turning and I thought of a few more options.

One easy idea I thought of was to make a simple round, double layer cake. Top it with cream and pink fondant. Then, you can top the cake with ballet slippers made from fondant or gum paste. If you don’t think you can make the ballet slippers yourself, look for a ballet slipper cake topper that you can simply add to the top of the cake. It’s easy and will instantly offer you beautiful results.

Another great cake idea for a ballerina party is a dancing ballerina bear cake. This cake idea is so adorable and it is easy to make because you use a cake pan to shape it. You can easily find ballerina bear cake pans online and in most cases, they will offer instructions for decorating your ballerina bear after you bake the cake. Go with pink, lilac or blue for the tutu and ballet slippers.

Another beautiful idea is to use toy ballerinas to help you decorate the ballerina cake. Start by creating a two or three tiered cake. Decorate the cake with pink buttercream. Then pipe on white buttercream to accent the cake. Add small toy ballerinas on the bottom tiers. Then, on the top of the cake, use a larger ballerina toy or cake topper for the finishing touch. Try looking for ballerina accents that match the icing on the cake.

If you opt to make any of the above ballerina cakes, your little ballerina is sure to be twirling her heart out with delight.
