My friends, who are far more knowledgeable about anime and video games than I am, helped me create this costume for the first anime convention I ever attended (first convention period, for that matter). It was just a local thing, but going somewhere in costume is always fun.
This costume is of Aeris/Aerith from the Final Fantasy franchise. Just about every part of it comes from a thrift store--the pink dress is shorter than what the character actually wore, but it's close enough, as is the cropped, short-sleeved red jacket worn over it. The shoes I borrowed from my friend, and some black string took the place of the necklace the character wears.Reply: Great Ideas, But I Gotta Add My Two Bits
Kyra created a great costume that would certainly do Aerith proud. Now that you've got your Final Fantasy costume idea, its time to turn your attention to the party room.
This can be a really cool party, as any science fiction party goer will agree. The main thing you want to concern yourself with when decorating for a Final Fantasy party or any other science fiction party is that you want your decorations to be shiny. here are a few ideas to help get you started in decorating your out-of-this-world party.
Liven up doorways by hanging a foil curtain in the openings.
One of your main decorating tools can be tin foil. It's cheap and shiny and has lots of uses; you just can't have too much of it.
Turn those dull, drab, white walls into a space spectaculor by covering them with tin foil. You can also cover your ceiling with it and add some glow in the dark stars.
Twist up the tin foil and create garland which can used to wrap around bannisters, windows, mantels, and doors.
It can also be hung from chandeliers to the corners of the room as you would garland.
Twist the tin foil into UFO-related shapes and hang them from the ceiling using fishing line or silver ribbons.
You can hang it from the ceiling after creating various shapes out of it.
