Baby Ducks Galore!
My baby boy’s first birthday just passed and I had such a blast throwing him a rubber ducky 1st birthday party. We took so many pictures, so while he won’t remember it now, we’ll be able to show him his amazing first birthday party someday.
The great thing about the rubber ducky 1st birthday theme was that it was great for both boys and girls, which worked out since we had boys and girls alike at the party. For my decorations, I used a color palette that included yellow, blue and red. I found an adorable “Happy Birthday” banner that had ducks on it and I sent all my little guests home with their own stuffed ducks as favors.
While I’ve never been the best at making cakes, I thought I’d try my hand at it for this party. I wanted to make a cake that would go along with the rubber ducky theme. Instead of one big cake, I decide to go with individual cakes. I started with cupcakes, turned them upside down, added a round cake ball for a head and then added icing to make them look like ducks. With the yellow ducks and red trim, they looked incredible with the rest of the party décor. Everyone had their own little duck to eat, and I sent home the leftover ducks with guests to enjoy later as a treat.
